The Christian Public Servant – “the biggest word ever”

The Christian Public Servant – “the biggest word ever”

July 8, 2016 – Friday

Reading
2 Chronicles 16:9(b) [MSG] God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him.

Reflection
For me, the word “committed” is a big word. Is it for you? I don’t mean grammatically. I don’t mean by the number of letters in that word. Lots of words are bigger than “committed.”

It is a big word because it requires a lot – maybe more than any other word. I mean, it really takes a lot to be committed.

Now, you may be committed to your job. You may be committed to your career. You may be committed to circumstance. You may be committed to lifestyle.

But the word gets bigger when you become committed to our Lord. Yes, it becomes the biggest word ever because He is on the lookout for you.

Today at work, use the biggest word ever. Be committed to God.

Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray. Thank You for not only loving me, but being on the outlook for me! I commit my life to You, and I promise to show others how committed I am. Amen.
